Having HTTPS connection difficulties?

  • If you are using Security/Firewall software on the PC we strongly recommend adding the Trading application to the firewall's allowed programs list.
  • If you are using a non-private network (e.g. you are using the network at your workplace) make sure that the IT-department have opened access through port 443 and 1001.
  • Make sure you have the latest version of the Java application installed on your pc. To get the latest version, please visit www.java.com.
  • Delete temporary internet files in Internet Explorer (Tools> Internet Options> Delete> Temporary Internet Files), and in the Java Console (Get step by step help here: Java Support).

What is TLS ?

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol (connection) that ensures privacy in your communication with Saxo Bank over the Internet.

When a Saxo Bank server and client communicate, TLS ensures that no third party may eavesdrop or tamper with any message.

TLS is the successor to the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). For a Saxo Trader ‘TCP with TLS’ connection, port 1001 must be open in your firewall/proxy server.

What is HTTPS ?

HTTPS (HTTP over SSL or HTTP Secure) is the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) as a sublayer under regular HTTP application layering.

HTTPS encrypts and decrypts user page requests as well as the pages that are returned by the Saxo Web server. The use of HTTPS ensures that no third party may eavesdrop or tamper with any message.

For SaxoTrader HTTPS connection, port 443 must be open in your firewall/proxy server.
